CALL FOR AUDITIONS
The Peñasco Theatre Collective is holding auditions for The Gaza Mono-Logues: An Adaptation in 5 Voices. The 55-minute physical theatre production weaves 33 monologues written by Palestinian youth with movement, dance, acrobatics and dramaturgy back by an original musical score. We are looking for actors or aspiring actors ages 16 – 25. Experience helpful but not necessary.The rehearsals for the production will be held in Peñasco, NM in a weekend retreat format later this summer. The production has been touring and performing for the past year and will continue to tour to the West Coast and other areas of the country in Fall 2017.The production shines a light on the experiences of Palestinian youth in Gaza living under Israeli occupation and will be utilize as a call-to-action in support of Palestinian liberation, BDS and an end to the occupation.Auditions will consist of a script read, movement exercises and theatre games. Please wear non-constricting, comfortable clothing.
Auditions are Sunday June 25th from 11am – 2pm at Working Classroom, 423 Atlantic SW, Albuquerque, NM. Please be there by 10:45am.
