I recently spent three weeks at Peñasco theatre and had a very special time. I was there on my own, and found the quiet, space and nature I’d been craving for a long time. I work outdoors a lot and especially with rivers – so I spent a lot of time visiting the nearby Rio Santa Barbara, and sometimes the Rio Grande a bit further away near Taos. A car was essential for this. I was so grateful for this mixture of working outside, then coming into the theatre to move, dance, paint and write. It was a perfect balance for me. I also so appreciated being on residency without having to “produce” anything; I found my way back to my movement practice but based in enjoyment and exploration rather than stress to make a piece! It was a beautiful time, Alessandra and Rafa were wonderful hosts, welcoming me and leaving me to my own devices in balance!
