January 2021 was my third time coming to the Penasco Theater for a solo residency, and i can’t begin to describe how much every stay there has done for my artistic process, my ability to refine goals and connect to my work, and my actual development of that work. the theater space is an absolute dream, the house is comfortable and roomy and clean, and the remote location of Penasco makes for a genuinely immersive experience. even with covid precautions in place, it felt very easy to navigate space sharing and considerations around safety. i absolutely recommend it for any individual or group looking to step away from the demands of everyday life and delve deep into creative work.
