Youth Arts Workshop 2022

A program of the Penasco Theater/ MAS communidad
Come learn acrobatics, stilts, aerial arts and create costumes. We will end on the 16th with a final public performance.This summer’s “mini” camp managed to happen, despite fires and covid!
We had 12 youth from the ages of 4-10 who participated and 3 teen helpers who worked hard to choreograph these young people into a fabulous performance after only 4 days of 4 hours of instruction! The theme for our program this year was “superpowers” and we talked about what our very own actually powers are, as well as what kind of super powers we want to have in the future. We also made bird masks and costumes and talked about how birds take turns being leaders, and this inspired our stilt performance.
This is a donation based program: That means, the Peñasco Theatre Collective feels that access to quality arts programs should not be limited by the ability to pay with money. We value all the other ways that people can contribute to help keep our programs going; we accept payments in; wood, produce, snacks, volunteer time and labor, and anything else you want to offer!
If you can pay cash we are asking for a $100 donation per participant for the week. If you have extra, please consider paying for a participant who can not!
